How to Best Prepare for your Fireplace Showroom Appointment?

We frequently have folks ask, “What should I bring to my fireplace showroom appointment?” Preparation on the homeowner’s end makes the process in showroom much quicker. If you don’t have a lot of time to spend in the showroom, pictures are the best way to clearly communicate your project goals. Fireplace measurements are also helpful.

Picture #2 – Entire room with fireplace or stove location (far away).

Picture #3 – Chimney or outside area of hearth renovation project.

the third important image we need to give you an estimate, a photo of your chimney or the outside location of your fireplace/ stove project

What do I do with my fireplace pictures?

Please bring these three pictures and any inspections related to the project. If you do not have a Level 2 chimney inspection for your existing fireplace, most fireplace showrooms will require one before any work is completed. A Level 2 chimney inspection is a report filled with images of all accessible areas of your flue. Pro tip: Look for fireplace showrooms with installers who are NFI or CSIA certified.

What to do in a fireplace showroom?

First step, find yourself a sales associate if you want to get an estimate of your project. Some folks prefer walking around and just checking out the fireplace showroom. Most fireplace and stove retail locations have live burning displays that you can use. (We recommend picking up a remote and trying to turn on a fireplace to see if it is intuitive.) The sales associate should be interested in helping you solve a problem. Most folks do not know exactly what they need in their home, it is the job of a hearth expert to help you find something that will be worth the investment once your showroom experience has long ended.

This is where the showroom experience gets a bit more specific depending on the fireplace shop you are exploring.

What is it like at The Stove Shop’s fireplace showroom in Phoenixville, PA?

At The Stove Shop, we listen for your goals and recommend a solution based on your project. Our showroom sales team will put together a initial order and discuss the estimated items with you. If you are amicable to the estimate, we will schedule a site visit with our estimator to check out your home in person. Once our estimator confirms the final quote with you, we can take a deposit for half of the total,  get the items ordered for your installation and get you scheduled for a new installation.
