Kimberton Historic District – The History of Kimberton, PA & Edward Kimber

Kimberton is named after Emmor Kimber, a progressive Quaker educator who arrived here in 1817. (He even wrote a famous letter to Thomas Jefferson.) According to The Tredyffrin Easttown Historical Society: “Emmor Kimber was one of the earliest participants in, and extremely active with, the Underground Railroad movement.
