Looking for your fireplace serial number? Not sure about your wood stove’s make or model? We can help!
A fireplace ratings plate has everything your need, primarily the manufacturer and serial number. If you have the ratings plate and it is readable, we are in business! Take a picture of your ratings plate for safekeeping.
On the ratings plate! Where is the ratings plate? There are three common locations for a ratings plate with serial number information for your gas fireplace, wood stove or pellet insert.
We find more often than not a ratings plate will be a large silver piece of metal with a bunch of information on it. Things like the make, model, serial number and efficiency numbers are all at the tip of your fingers. A ratings plate should be left with your heating appliance for future reference. If you want to keep a record of the information, take a picture!
Wood or pellet stoves: Beneath the ash pan or rear panel.
